Some recent reviews...

We still don't understand the cause of dilated cardiomyopathy, although research and treatment have advanced in the years since this patient was treated. Today there is greater interest in b-blockers for the treatment of congestive heart failure, and in immunological disease mechanisms, including apoptosis and cytokines such as tumour necrosis factor TNF-a.
