Yeast cells in urine

Hyaline cast

Casts are formed when proteinacious material deposits around renal tubules. These then slough off into the urine. Sometimes casts are associated with cells or crystals. In this case, there is nothing associated with the cast. In an unstained preparation, it would look 'glassy', earning it the name 'hyaline cast'.
