The Leeds Centre for Photobiology and Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is the largest of its kind and brings together more than 40 experts in biochemistry, chemistry, physics, biomedical science and clinical medicine to develop the new technology known as 'Photodynamics'.

This has applications in the detection and treatment of cancer and other diseases. It is also potentially valuable in destroying bacteria and other dangerous organisms.
