This session considers the fates of the lipid components of the diet after absorption. It will cover:

• types of lipids found in the diet
• revision of lipid transport
• fatty acid oxidation
• ketone body synthesis
• cholesterol - sources, synthesis, and the role of cholesterol in heart disease
